Hippocampus

It is part of the nervous system.

It is part of Limbic System. There is a hippocampus on each side of the brain.

Hippocampus means seahorse.

The Limbic lobe has two parts - cingulate gyrus and parahippocampal gyrus.

Hippocampus is part of the parahippocampal gyrus.

It is involved in long term memory and spatial navigation.
