Amygdala

Part of the nervous system.

Part of Limbic System.

Located next to hippocampus and below hypothalamus.

Removal of amygdala produces an animal what lacks both fear and aggression.

A person with damaged amygdala fails to recognize fearful expressions in others or to express fear in appropriate situations.
